A child-focused non-governmental organization (NGO), R&F Foundation, has donated valuables to the House of Mercy Children’s Home as part of its efforts to support the home.
The supplies, valued at more than GH¢20,000.00, included educational materials, a television set, food items, toiletries, and clothing.
The founder, Mr. Roderick Okoampah Ayeh, while handing over the items, said it behooves everyone to be sensitive to the vulnerable, especially Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). He added that such individuals exhibit immense talent and need support to unleash their potential.
He mentioned that the R&F Foundation has, over the years, supported various schools in the country due to its objective of contributing towards the promotion of children’s education, especially.
Education, he said, helps alleviate poverty and promotes development. Therefore, it is necessary for the government and all well-meaning Ghanaians to collaborate to ensure that no child is left behind when it comes to formal education.
He commended the staff of the House of Mercy Children’s Home for their dedication to the upkeep of the children.
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, the director, Rev. William Tetteh Deku, expressed gratitude for the kind gesture.
He stated that the materials would go a long way in supporting the well-being of the special children and helping them excel academically.
After the donation exercise, R&F Foundation volunteers engaged in a reading session with the children, followed by a feast and games organized for the students.
